I woke up on the 29th of July feeling incredibly ecstatic. Somehow, I rekindled my enthusiasm for birthdays. Although not as grand as last year's surprise birthday party (see here), I had a great time with the series of mini celebrations sans colossal, confetti-filled surprises.
Most people would opt to have a birthday leave, but a BL was something I totally crossed out this year. Although this is my third job since I graduated in 2012, this was my first time to celebrate my birthday in an office. With the kind of team I have now, I just couldn't afford to miss the "surprise". We do this thing in the office where we greet celebrators ala Vikings/Buffet 101/or something as primitive as The Singing Cooks and Waiters. Being part of the HR team, I knew they were gonna set this up. So first thing in the morning, I made sure to check if I actually had a birthday cake. :)) #lowEQ
Unfortunately this year, my dad and younger brother went home to Bicol for some errands, so I had to celebrate the day of my birthday with only my mom, youngest brother, lola, cousins, and Ced. I had a birthday dinner at home which was nothing fancy at all. It was all I could ever ask for and more.
This weekend, the boys finally came home from Sorsogon, so we had a post-birthday dinner at The Food Club with the whole family (Ced included), my ninong and his junior mischief maker.
I'm twenty three!!!
This was one of the simplest birthdays I've had but 23 holds so many promises
I'm so excited to conquer this year.
